About
The Photographer – Graham Bridgeman-Clarke. An enthusiastic amateur who sometimes make the odd pound here and there.
From a Kodak Instamatic to a Leica. My life’s journey..
My first commercial work was a photo assignment at a theatre. Taking the pictures on site or on the street with cast members, working overnight to develop the film and print the pictures. Delivering the photos to the theatre the following day to Catford Theatre for the production of “Me and My Girl”.
I subsequently undertook several assignments at local football and cricket matches and I was one of the official photographers for Southend United for several years producing action images of games for the programme, website and the official kit launch one year.
Various charitable work with English Heritage taking images of listed buildings, undertaking national campaigns for Countryside a firm of house builders and had the privilege of working and photographing sports celebrities including Sir Henry Cooper, Billy Bonds of West Ham United, Jimmy Greaves, Martin Peters, George Cohen and Nobby Stiles, of the 1966 England World Cup winning squad together with Chelsea stars, Charlie Cooke and Ron Harris. Nobby Stiles had one of my images of him on his wall at home.
I have had a number of images in exhibitions in France and in the UK and I won the Olympus Camera award for best image in the last Essex Open Art Exhibition.
I like to travel extensively in Europe taking images of the surreal, unusual and interesting.
